1. Enter text you want to animate.
2. Select what characters you want to animate
3. In the lower left next to the Text Layer - find the drop down button
that says ANIMATE.
4. Select ANIMATE POSITION
5. Range Selector and Position (range of characters and animate that
selection)
START & END Parameters (also special cursors)
6. Range Selection (set keyframe to START) move 2 seconds later in
time
7. Set START keyframe to be 100%
